  1. Mbj, spelling hint: "I before E except after C or when sounded as A as in neighbour and weigh"
  2. Carol, You mean save mankind? Hmmmm... I'll think about it. Obviously, I'm overqualified, so no biggie there. I'm just worried if I'll get bored... Michael Yes, boredom might be a problem, true. Brant is considering joining the Sex party but it only has 684 members, so he is worried he will get bored in a few weeks.
  3. Amen. You should affiliate with the BC Your Political Party, and start the revolution!
  4. No, those are a couple reformed Daleks of my acquaintance. Speaking of voice, it is interesting how important physical voice is to relaying a message. I mentioned my aversion to listening to Peikoff because of his pitch. Bush's whiney strained tones detracted from his message. Margaret Thatcher famously took lessons to lower her voice to never sound shrill ,"an excellent thing in a woman". And Rand was endlessly listenable to in her rich alto. Throatily, Carol
  5. I knew you would get to the bigtime before me! That thumbs up is from me, by the way. Don't be bitter. You gotta future too, kid.
  6. Thanks everybody, I have settled in with my new computer and am now happily non-Magooish.
  7. Yup. In the last election they were the sixth-place finisher. Aw William, you are always too modest, You never told us you had started all those new parties with the catchy names!
  8. Stuart Stevens, Romney top strategist, told the Wall Street Journal the Eastwood performance "was an improv".
  9. ...thread kill? I don't know about Jefferson or Henry but a Sam Adams would go down well with it.
  10. PS Is there a libertarian party or candidates in BC?
  11. And in less objective terms, from the Globe and Mail: This leaves that cross-eyed socialist windbag Adrian Dix as the most trusted and most popular politician in British Columbia. Holy holistics! I had not been paying attention, in true Canadian fashion, finding American sources more entertaining, Chris Christie v Christy Clark, no contest. The Left Coast is at it again. I hope the North Korean campaign money does not just get wasted on phony meth this time..
  12. The article got one thing right though. Romney should have said he liked the spot and appreciated Clint's support. The convention audience enjoyed it and regular TV watchers did too. That is all that should be expected of entertainment performers at political events.
  13. Yeah well you're obviously a leftist, so how would you know? The big test is coming up in about a month and a half, when the movie comes out. Will Cato be supportive? Do they really have a choice whether to be supportive or not? BTW if you follow the links in the Slate article they go to a Catholic libertarian named Jeremy Lott, who I'm not sure I've encountered before, but anyway he links to my video ("for a real fun time watch this video"), and to the pugnacious OO thread where I first posted it. This is like, wow, I kinda maybe made a difference. It's gotten 450 views, 1 like and 6 dislikes. http://www.patheos.c...ns-objectivism/ Make that 451 - you made that video? It is excellent! Is that your voice on the voice over? I thought nothing would ever induce me to listen to Peikoff' for more than a minute (his voice is really shrill, isn.t it?) but you did it.
  14. And it really was not big enough to hold both of them.
  15. Michael Moore and Chris Christie walked into a bar....
  16. Just trying to squeeze through the door frame would probably kill him.
  17. I still think Trump was the original choice to deliver that speech. The "politicians are employees of ours" line convinces me. But I guess that little ol convention wasn't big enough for the both of them.
  18. I know it doesn't, and I have come to see how fine a line you scan between trollery and drollery to keep OL what it is, which is great. Thank you. Carol
  19. THe message being, musicians do not like cantatus interruptus.
  20. It must be a cosmic musical myth! I heard it about 30 years ago. I suppose thre is a version featuring most of the greats.
  21. Macleans magazine online which I read frequentlyhas a "view in clear text " click which bumps up the type size, Why doesn't everybody do this? Carol Astigmatic and removes glasses to read
  22. Could you precis this theory into a paragraph of your own about what you derived from this video? I do not have an hour to watch it.
