  1. I mean, read both. Brant is just so mean about my highest values sometimes.
  2. Or read PDS's posts, they are shorter.
  3. On Solo, perennial favourite NotDougBandler continues his intellectual journey through nineteenth century Eugenics, and makes short work of the Asians. The Asians ...no need to distinguish between Singaporeans and Seoulmen here, anatomy is destiny... though not as stupid and savage as the blacks, are brainwired collectivists and however much exposed to liberty will never understand it. Only white people are brainwired to understand it. White people who marry Asians and ugh, have children, are suicidally destroying their own liberty genes. How sick is that? Maybe white people are not all so smart after all. So, heads up on the Yellow Peril, the Sequel. Just when you thought it was safe to order Chinese...
  4. Heck no, I thought I was a wild, untamed one.
  5. Aw, thanks Ginny. Don't tell me Pet Rocks are coming back???
  6. Yes, real. The Caucus is dead but the Tea Party regroups... dead bodies float in the Newark River nothing to do with politics).... Why the Tea Party is NOT dead...this is the same screen I saw, except t"Tea Party Dead Donor from Huffpost was added. This story is about political contributions that appear to come from deceased individuals. Only one story actually announces the death of the TP and it is a comment blog.
  7. According to your preamble, the republic was founded to "promote the general welfare" as well as the protection of individual liberties. Was this phrase just included as filler?
  8. Hey, you are from Philadelphia! Too much to hope you are a hockey fan. But did you know the Flyers owner is an Objectivist? He is not much of a team strategist however.
  9. The top three headlines that came up : "Tea Party Isn't Dead..." "Reports of Tea Party Death are Greatly Exaggerated..." "Tea Party Not Dead..." I will take a wild guess and say you were just writing from your own impressions, as I was. Maybe you heard that the death was being constantly reported by the MSM, from "an impassioned radio host." Maybe you read definitive obituaries from many sources, but don't remember exactly where. Commentary about commentary is a wearisome business, and it is amazing how many people make a living from it.
  10. jts it is REALLY UNBECOMING for you to always be telling Americans what they should be doing. I suppose they appreciate your sympathy, though.
  11. If you are interested, the postwar US president I admire the most after Truman, is Eisenhower.
  12. Michael, I have looked at a lot of commentary throughout this crisis and after, and I never once saw anyone say that the Tea Party is dead, or even ailing. What is said is that the relationship between the TP and the other Republicans is strained, perhaps irreparably frayed. In politics that is not anywhere near dead. Could you quote an example of this MSM repetition? I remember reading Charles Krauthammer a couple years ago, predicting that the integration of the Tea Party with the GOP would be "harmonious." That is about par for Krauthammer's predictive success. He is good at hindsight, though.
  13. Democracy in America helped ensure that those atrocities were shown for what they were, and prosecuted. Not the local thought majorities, not the state legislators, but the exerted power of a democratically elected federal government, acting to promote the general welfare and protect life and liberty to those who had been deprived of them.
  14. I prefer to think that they found my outer beauty corresponded with my inner. They were enthusiastic amateur geologists.
  15. Ellen, does this family aspect figure into your Christology parallel? At least two of Jesus's disciples were supposed to be his brothers. If you can successfully proselytize your own family, you can just about persuade anybody. Except here, NB would be the Christ figure, with Rand as the God.
  16. NB's family. \Wife, sister, cousin, wife's cousin, cousin's wife.
  17. Baal is a little distraught today. I have looked at your list Ellen, and all I see is an ordinary family group except Greenspan and Rukavina, who nevertheless have the same cultural backgrounds as the others. Of course, all families are strange.
  18. No need to worsen things by unfairly smearing a whole innocent group. Most of us are not even Republicans. We demand an apology. International Federation of Harlots and Trollops
  19. Two great ones. Love the story arc on the dog bed one. Hey Adam, if dogs and cats can compromise like that in such narrow conditions, howcome the Republicans and the... oh, never mind.
  20. Apt comment about the cigarette, HD. The Toronto Marlies used to be the Marlboroughs but shortened the name to avoid being associated with cigarette, though there never was any connection anyway, as far as I know.
  21. Brant, you miss the more serious issue here. It is in the guidelines: It is the exclusive right of Members to screw up, post on wrong threads, and forget who they are talking to about what. It is the duty of Management to be perfect and correct the mistakes of Members. Creeping dictatorship is infringing on our rights!
  22. Thomas Sowell wrote recently that the Republicans failed by not translating their "Beltwayspeak" into plain messages for the average American about their goals and tactics contra Obamacare. Even if explained plainly however, it is possible that many average Americans would still not like the message , particularly the nonRepublicans.
  23. HD, don'tknow if it was the same discussion, but I just saw an OO member proclaim that he had never heard of a woman described as "a rock" in the sense that Frank was Ayn's rock, etc., and this connotated masculinity in character. I found this funny because recently my 28 year old son told me that I was his rock. |n fact, his father a true rock) once said the same to me. And my character has the consistency of a sponge wrapped in one ply paper towel, but two good men found rockiness in me. Rand was proud to be called an honorary man. I wonder if she would be so proud now of her admirers who define masculinity in her name.
