caroljane
O Brant, you poor naïve boy. This is just the beginning - the day after the draft! How about that first round? What do they put in the water in Cole Harbour anyway? Love Darnell Nurse going to Edmonton--the Oilers will gush again for sure! Another hockey player with basketball/football antecedents - Popeye Jones "lost his boy to hockey" when he took him to a Stanley Cup final... Um...I sense you'd rather I take myself off to the TooManyMen site....

caroljane
Great new addition to Real Housewives of the NHL! Now there are two famous PEI Cuthberts. caroljane
Just want to join Adam and any other Rangers fans who are welcoming Dominic Moore back to the team that first drafted him. He spent nearly two years off the ice to be with his wife Katie who was dying of a rare cancer. He's 32 now.I believe they met at Harvard where he played hockey. Love Story for real.He is a centre and what hockeytalkers call "a character guy".
caroljane
Might as well pick up the 2013 season here, since it is one of my better topic titles. Leafs lost last night, snapping a 6 to 1 winning streak, and. there was a general sigh of relief. No, not by the other teams, here in Toronto itself. The coach has been whining that the team is sloppy and can't expect to keep winning with such poor performances. The players have been slinking around apologizing for not playing better. The sportsmedia have been rehashing the bad choices of the management over the last three years.Hockey business as usual here. Talk about tearing down the good for not being good enough.Among last night's highights, our goalie was mown down by his own teammate in the first minute of play, and the backup came in. There was no backup for him, occasioning much speculation that Leafs legend Johnny Bower, age 80, who was in attendance at the game, would be pressed into service.Fortunately he was spared, as heroic efforts produced the U of T Varsity Blues goalie from a noodle house nearby and got him dressed in time for the third period. He was kept in the skate sharpening room and not called upon to play, but kept company by expensive David Clarkson, who started the preseason by leaping off the bench and joining a brawl for no discernible reason and got a ten game suspension.|Now Leafs are on a road trip against the best teams in the league and I do not feel good about it. Those Minnesota Tax |Rapers in especial, are not into sportsmanlike conduct. Those weird scythes and rainbows on their jerseys are enough to freak anybody out.As always, I'm just saying. caroljane
The only good things about last night's game were the classy reception Chi gave \Dave Bolland, and the anthem singer. Cornelison is really good. Not as good as Newlands, but really good. There is some comfort, not much but some, that Boston are still stuck with the worst anthem singer of all time. Having mostly been stuck with the Worst Management of All Time for the last four decades, we can sympathize.
caroljane
I have seen the light about Miley Cyrus. She is not cute like I thought, she is ugly, hideously ugly, and her nihilistic paean to nonvolition "We Can't Stop" is the work of the Devil. When the Leafs were winning, the discordant strains of that mockery of music began infesting ACC eardrums as the victory song. The team and staff variously disliked, or hated that song, yet obviously inside pressure had been exerted to get it played. The evildoer was unmasked by the solid investigative work of Sean McIndoe, among others. Immoral Leafs forward Tyler Bozak, as detailed in McIndoe's expose, "Tyler Bozak Ruins Everything", of course has "no comment." Meanwhile the havoc has been wreaked.... or maybe wrought? and Leafs are losing as is part of the master plan of Bozak's real bosses who control the NHL. I better not say their name as I am not brave like McIndoe but they are very very good friends with a certain well known Enemy of the Good, and I am not talking Soros. caroljane
If it walks like a Duck and quacks like a Duck and gets a 2 goal lead.....Leafs can still cook them!3 hats off to Phil Kessel

caroljane
Daniel Alfredsson, former Ottawa God and now the Great Satan of Detroit, got showed pretty good how the team he captained can do without him. Five goals worth of showed. Bobby Ryan, who found in hockey a haven from his harrowing and perplexing childhood, scored twice displayed as always, what is called "character" in the game. And in life. caroljane
Today is a low point in the career of John Scott, a hockey drone compared with whom your average NHL goon is Lytton Strachey. It is obvious to most that he should not be deployed again, so the heat is also on his criminally idiotic coach, while as usual the GM and owners will wring their clean hands. It is up to the Buffalo fans now, and I hope there are some true hockey fans among them.

caroljane
|Leafs keep winning although they are outshot in every single game by alarming margins. This is a big concern of Coach Carlyle who was included in a Down Goes Brown roundup of "Coaches on the Hot Seat" . McIindoe reports that he currently has the hottest seat in the whole NHL. He put his office chair on the wing with Kessel and it has seven points in its last three games.
Brant Gaede
You can be a Maple Leaf and part of the Maple Leaves, but the plural of leaf is not leafs. On the plus side, leaves can be raked up and burnt. There is nothing to be done with leafs except to beat them at their own game, preferably by The New York Rangers. Of course, there are no rangers in New York--I don't think (yes, I have chosen not to think)--they are all out West.--Brantattacking from below (and without mercy): Die hockey, Die!
