On a current thread pertaining to the December 2014 issue of JARS, reference was made to a book recently published by Michelle Marder Kamhi: Who Says That's Art? A Commonsense View of the Visual Arts I bought the book (Amazon link). I've read the Preface, the Introduction ("If Art Can Be Anything, Then It Is Nothing"), and Chapter 3 ("What's Wrong with 'Abstract Art'?"). To my surprise, I'm enjoying the writing style.
